Wrapping up the Reading

A couple of people have emailed to ask what readings they need to wrap up.
There are only two courepack articles left that you will likely see on the exam. I already mentioned the "Undoing the Dew Line" article at the Nov.5th class.

The second article that you will see on the exam is the "Diamond Alley" article. Flip through it and note 3 key points that it makes. Although the article doesn't mention Moosonee area, you can draw comparisons with the ice road between Moosonee and Moose Factory Island. Ice roads and winter roads are a fact of life "up north" as indicated by the Diamond Alley article. If you're bored and need a break from writing papers you can always watch "Ice Road Truckers" for a while. I love the sound of the ice cracking when the transports cross it. Reminds me of the sound of major ice cracks on Lake Nipissing (at North Bay). Always easy to love a dangerous sound when you're not the one driving the transport.

If you need an appointment-send me an email before Wednesday. I will save the hour before class on Nov.26th and Dec.3rd.
See you on the 26th!
